Fractional & Interim CTO

Senior technology leadership, embedded in your business, without the full-time cost or the six-month executive search. On the days you need me, I take ownership of the technology function: the strategy, the team, the architecture, and the board-level conversation.

What I take on

  • Technology strategy and roadmap ownership.
  • Architecture and build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Leading, mentoring, or hiring your engineering team.
  • Translating technology into commercial language for your board and investors.
  • Security, resilience, and technical risk.
  • Managing technical debt deliberately instead of letting it compound.

Fractional vs interim: which you need

The difference from a consultant

I don't write you a strategy and leave. On my committed days I'm a member of your leadership team, making decisions and accountable for the technology function's performance. And because I build as well as advise, I can pick up the work myself when it's faster than waiting on a hire.

How it's delivered

Fractional CTO work is set up as a 12-month engagement. Real technology leadership compounds: a year gives me time to set the direction, build the foundations, and see the results land, rather than dipping in and out. Interim cover is scoped to the period you need.

Who it's for

Founders and SME or scale-up leaders who need senior technology judgement in the room: someone to own the direction, steer the team, and answer for the result, without carrying a full-time executive salary before the business is ready for one.
